Bowers & Wilkins Active Subwoofer ASW610XP

ASW610XP, the most powerful of the AWS Series subwoofers, delivers the finishing touch – or finishing thump – to a hi-fi or home theater system for larger rooms. A big driver isn't enough: ASW610XP's combines paper pulp, Aramid fiber and resin for stiffness and accuracy. ASW610XP may be compact, but it packs a gutsy 500W Class D amplifier designed for punch and cool operation. The closed cabinet with the bass driver mounted at the front is perfectly damped, and the build quality is impeccable from the British brand. The large, long-throw woofer, measuring 250mm in height, has a visible rubber surround and a cone made from cellulose combined with Kevlar fibers and special bonding resins to provide the necessary rigidity, lightness, resilience and strength. A special feature of this model is the use of two ICEpower D-class digital amplifiers with a total power of 500 W. For the diaphragm, two voice coils combined in this way were used. On the rear panel of the Bowers & Wilkins ASW610XP subwoofer there is a power indicator and a socket for connecting the power cable, a switch with three modes (On, Auto on/off function and standard Standby), separate volume controls for line and high-level inputs, a cutoff frequency selection knob and an LPF filter selector and a three-position bass extension switch that adjusts the depth of the low-frequency range. There is also a two-position equalizer, a phase switch (0 - 180°), a trigger jack, RCA line-in jacks and two pairs of screw terminals for speaker systems. The kit includes height-adjustable spikes and rubber stands to decouple the body from the floor.
